Some of you that struggle with this condition, whether it's a rash or some form of eczema, have had it for years. You’ve tried the steroid creams, the anti-inflammatory meds, and in the beginning they worked but you’re noticing now the problem has come back and seems to want to stay. You might be thinking of increasing your dosage on medication, but a part of you also wants to just get down to the root cause of the rash and clear it for good!

Every time you get a flare up, you either have to change your entire outfit, put on extra makeup, or slab on steroid cream and hope it kicks in asap. You just want to feel comfortable again in your own skin but this annoying rash just makes it SO difficult!

Rashes are annoying to live with, they’re like a side-kick you just want to kick OUT of your life. What if I told you there was a way to get down to the root cause of the rash. That with a holistic approach in mind, you would no longer have to just mask the condition, but you could see it improve, and actually clear it! That you could go to the beach again, and not worry about the rash showing.

Acupuncture works by taking into consideration the entire you. Everything from your mental health and emotional well-being to your digestion, sleep quality, and any lingering aches and pains that might be preventing that skin rash from healing.

Rashes are a result of an imbalance. Acupuncture works on imbalances. Inflammatory rashes are seen as a form of “heat”, with noticeable redness and are quite dry. Acupuncture points are chosen based on their heat clearing properties. By doing so, this provides an outlet for the inflammation, instead of trying to suppress it with steroid creams.

Emotionally stress also creates heat in the body. In this case, acupuncture can help skin rashes by calming the mind, and allowing heated emotions to settle.

At ACUSOUL we also believe in using food as medicine. In fact in every treatment, we offer acupuncture and food therapy recommendations at all our acupuncture clinics here in Toronto. Today, I’m going to share with you a free “food therapy” home remedy you can make to naturally reduce inflammation in your body:

In a shot glass:

1 tsp turmeric powder

1 sprinkle of black pepper

Hot water

½ tsp honey for taste (optional)

Mix together the ingredients in the shot glass, and take this in the morning. Turmeric has powerful anti-inflammatory properties which get unlocked when you add a bit of black pepper.

If you’d like to get down to the root cause of your skin rash, feel free to book an appointment at one of our acupuncture clinics in Toronto below. We’ll discuss your health concerns in detail, and help you clear that rash for good!
